If you glance past the perversion as unbiased FUN FUN FUN, then the series is for you!

This is one of my approved OAVs series (Oh! My Goddess being another)! This tells the yarn of a Magic Users Club at a high school. Now this club only has.. 5 people (including the president), not to mention that one of them rarely comes. In this day and age, there is an alien object that came from set which people call the ‘bell.’ The world couldn’t end it at all and then they unbiased let it be because they understanding the bell was harmless. They had all these things reach out to join society (which unprejudiced perceive like enormous round balls) . They appeared normal, I mean, they even stopped at crosswalks with the other pedestrians!

Well, the Magic Users Club is headed by a mammoth pervert who honest wanted to recognize wintry to the other underclassmen (who are all girls) . He said that he was going to consume out that bell and our naive main character, Sae, always believed him. So they all actually went to try to go after the bell but difficulties arrived. Anyway, I don’t want to spoil anymore, objective wanted to give you some background info. This is a really fun, mammoth anime. It’s simply magical and I mediate anyone would like it.

The OAVs have 6 episodes in all with a TV series to continue it which Media Blasters will release after the OAV.

Magic User’s Club (Maho Tsukai Tai) is one of those anime titles that hasn’t really made a great name for itself. Which is a shame as the animation is top notch on the OVA episodes. (1-6 on DVDs 1, 2 and 3) This is thanks to the input of Ikuko Ito (Sailor Moon, R, S and SuperS) This is the work she made instead of staying to work on Sailor Moon Stars. The colours are valiant and joyful and the animation is calm and fun.

The series itself comes in two parts; The OVA episodes and the TV episodes. The OVA is far better visually and by means of storyline, but both are droll and follow the exploits of humourous and loveable characters.

This is a series that should be more favorite but isn’t. Something I attribute to the ‘more mature’ squawk and the sub-standard english language version. Luckily the japanese dialogue version with english subtitles is selectable.

Anyone who enjoys the likeable aspects of Sailor Moon and the adult humour of Uncut episodes of Tenchi Muyo! will admire this series. (and the subbed version features the pronounce talent of Masaya Onosaka who has played Jadeite in Sailor Moon and Vash The Stampede from Trigun)

In CHINATOWN, Polanski gave us a tremendous record of corruption. In ROSEMARY’S BABY, he studied the occult. In REPULSION, he gave us a portrait of a stupefied mind. Here, in THE TENANT, Roman Polanski gives us a ravishing novel portrayal of absolute paranoia.

Polanski stars himself as the main character: a man who rents the apartment of a insensible woman - who apparently jumped from her window.

Strangely enough, Polanski’s character starts to identify with the tedious woman microscopic by puny as he starts to live in the same environment… the same apartment, the same neighbours, the same window, the same talk… and - guess what! - maybe she did not commit suicide after all…

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Tenant! Click Here

But this is honest the beginning. To content more, it would be unthinkable.

Why is this a substantial film? A first rate screenplay (beautifully constructed), wonderful actors (Shelley Winters and Melvyn Douglas are enormous!), and…

…The sets! The bulding (a parisian quartier) is absolutely wonderful. Like REAR WINDOW, it was entirely built in a sound stage - improbable!!! - allowing Mr.Polanski enough freedom to set the camera wherever he wanted.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Tenant! Click Here

But the tall thing about this film is that (like in a space of paranoia) you never know what is truth or what is imagined. The main character starts to leer, hear and peruse things that may actually be apt! - only at the destroy (with a finalle that makes perfect sense) you’ll gape the truth tedious it all.

After those fair sets, comes the cinematography by one of the top Directors of Photography: Sven Nykvist (PERSONA, CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS, ANOTHER WOMAN, CRIES AND WHISPERS, AUTUMN SONATA, and many other works) … this film has one of the best studio cinematographies I have ever seen. The music is also aesthetic and you will fancy it from the moment it begins. Also a stout achevement is sound build.

This is one of those vast films where mood and atmosphere space an exemple for what to do in a film - a work where everything is suitable.

Unfortunately, the DVD only comes with the trailer (which is also exquisite) . No photos, no commentary (I was hoping this DVD would advance with a commentary by Mr.Polanski), not even a diminutive interview with anybody. Too awful if you deem the quality of the craftsmanship of this work.

But at this amazing obscene designate… one cannot complaint.

…… or, “Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are In My Wall.”

There are differing views on this somewhat minute film, but I judge in the colossal portray of RP’s filmmaking career, The Tenant will stand out as his most personal work. If you know anything about this man’s life, what he went through (and what he was about to go through, a scandal that caused him to glide the U.S.), the events in this very darkly comical story become all the more haunting.

The basic story: a socially awkward clerk moves in to an apartment previously occupied by a young woman who objective died from injuries sustained by hurtling herself from that very apartment window. What he doesn’t realize is that, by his fascinating in, the stage has been region for him to inherit the very dismal despair that possessed the traditional tenant. In the course of his solitary tenency, he hears disturbing sounds, sees weird things inside and outside his flat, and encounters inexplicable hostility from others in the building. Over time, he becomes increasingly terrorized and obsessed, incapable of controlling his believe behavior, and the line between reality and delusion ultimately dissolves, giving intention to psychosis.

This gloomy move is not without Polanski’s trademark warped, absurdist humor, and one gets a sense from sharing the deteriorating experience of his self-portrayed protagonist that he himself was trying to accept a blueprint to laugh at his fill miseries and fears. This could be a therapeutic element of this film; by watching the ridiculously hopeless and melancholy scenario unfold, hopefully we can laugh at our contain vulnerabilities, while at the same time seeing that element in other peoples’ callous behavior that drives others into such a residence.

With Polanski’s novel found recognition in a film industry that cautiously turned its support on him nearly 30 years ago, we are finally given a chance to peek this forgotten adore, and it’s about time. I’ve read many comparisons to Taxi Driver, but the subtle supernatural implications found in The Tenant’s more surreal moments remind me more of The Gleaming, wherein an alienated individual renders himself prone to sad, irrational powers by scheme of his occupy obsession. A level-headed, well-paced primal bawl of a movie, this number will definitely give the viewer a bent chuckle, and more than a few shivers after it ends. A no-holds barred, lights out masterpiece.

Famous for star-studded films of the 70s like “The Poseidon Adventure” and “The Towering Inferno”, producer Irwin Allen made clear the cast of this spectacular ALICE IN WONDERLAND featured honest about every single showbusiness conventional and well-known of the day. It would have been easy for Natalie Gregory to have become overwhelmed or overshadowed by her cavalcade of co-stars but the piquant young actress holds her absorb and gives a very solid performance, though it must be well-known that her singing was in fact dubbed by another petite girl called Lara Beeson. The musical numbers, written by legendary host Steve Allen (who also appears as the Paper Suit Man during Allotment Two), are all very gorgeous and perfect for the characters but the best number by far is the lovely ballad “Emotions”, delivered by Ann Jillian in a tear-inducing rendition.

Children of the 80s remember this version with a lot of nostalgia, and it’s so magnificent to assume we can now introduce this gem to our contain children.

U know…..it’s so unusual to read everyone else’s reviews and accumulate that so many people had the same scrape as me 8) I saw this movie when I was very young, my mom had taped it for me, and I’d watched it everyday! But unfortunately my dad opinion the Miami Hurricanes was a more critical thing to have on tape and thus recorded over it. That’s when I was in 3rd grade. Here it is, 12 years later and I’ve finally found the version I was looking for. It was impossible to score and no one else I know has even heard of this version. If u want to explore this movie, order it now, cause I know first hand that it’s impossible to catch anywhere else. It’s and generous movie and u will not be disappointed! It was my accepted movie whne I was younger, and this version is 300Xs better than the Disney version. Your children will probably like this one better. It includes mnay scenes not shown in other versions. There’s the scene with the baby that turns into a pig, the scene where the woman turns into a lamb, a grunt scene, 2 different characters telling the yarn of the Walrus and the Carpenter, the scene with the unicorn and lion with the cake, a scene with Humpty Dumpty, and the best scene of all, the JABBERWOCKY!

On a whole number of levels, this movie shouldn’t have worked for me. It takes powerful license with historical facts, not only in order to supplement details that are not portion of William Wallace’s fable but actually, wherever convenient. (”We stuck to history where we could but hyped it up where the narrative let us,” actor-director Mel Gibson admits on the DVD’s commentary track.) It is graphically and unabashedly violent: from throat cuttings to battle scenes that have film blood literally splashing onto the camera, beheadings, a traitor’s head smashed with a

wrecking ball, and fully 15 minutes of Wallace’s “purification by damage,” it shows some of the most brutal behavior conceivable. It also engages in some of the most blatant cheerful profiling in unusual film history - not fair in the drastic slay administered on the lover of King Edward I. “Longshanks”’s son, but equally in the portrayal of both characters and their relationship as such. Last but not least, Mel Gibson plays a man at least 10 years younger than himself, a choice often enough bordering on the ridiculous. (Gibson insists it was the studio’s wish that he not only originate and hiss but also star in the title role.)

And yet …

From the first notes of James Horner’s hauntingly fine soundtrack and the first sweeping camera shots over the Scottish highlands, blending seamlessly into the pictures of the Scottish riders on their map to the alleged truce talks initiated by Longshanks, and the narrator’s, Robert the Bruce’s (Angus MacFadyen’s) introduction - “I shall snarl you about William Wallace: Historians from England will call me a liar, but history is written by those who have hanged heroes” - there is no mistaking that this is an fable legend, taking up the tradition of the likes of “Spartacus” and “Ben Hur.” Like those movies, “Braveheart” is a anecdote of heroism and of having the courage of one’s convictions; chronicling the life of its hero from first esteem to loss, betrayal, battles and final confrontation with his arch-enemy’s powers. Like both of them, “Braveheart” won multiple Academy Awards, not least for John Toll’s outstanding cinematography. Like “Ben Hur,” it also won the coveted awards for “Best Narrate” and for “Best Director.” And maybe I’m objective a sucker for that kind of epos …

To my surprise, I found Mel Gibson to reach across very believable as William Wallace; age dissimilarity, Scottish brogue and all. Both his acting and his direction are informed by a determined sense of vision for the movie and its title character. Moreover, although fleshy writing credits went to would-be (? ) Wallace descendant Randall W., many shrimp details undeniably note Gibson’s hand and mannerisms: to name fair a few of the more definite examples, Wallace’s marriage proposal to Murron, his grinning greeting of a group of English soldiers trapped below a cliff, and his response to a doubting Scottish soldier’s comment at Proper that he can’t really be Wallace because he’s not great enough.

In addition to John Toll’s award winning cinematography, the movie benefits from apt production effect (Tom Sanders), a get which perfectly captures the mood of every single scene, and a cast of outstanding actors; first and foremost Patrick McGoohan as Longshanks, who portrays the king’s impart ruthlessness so convincingly that you completely forget his earlier incarnation as the 1960s’ “Distress Man,” and who delivers monologues and soliloquies helpful of a Shakespearean king. His musing “but whom shall I send” when plotting to send a messenger to Wallace with another insincere offer of truce, and his chilling announcement of the reinstitution the ius primae noctae because “the pain with Scotland is that it is fat of Scots … If we can’t catch them out, we’ll breed them out” could have been uttered verbatim by anyone of the Bard’s most tainted kings. (Screenwriter Randall Wallace does indeed admit to Shakespeare’s explain influence on the script, particularly on Wallace’s “Sons of Scotland” speech before the battle of Marvelous, which is strongly based on the monologues of King Henry V. at Agincourt) .

Equally impressive is Ian Bannen in one of his last roles, starring as Robert the Bruce’s leprosy-ridden father and rank spirit, whose first reaction to the tales about Wallace is to deride him (”He has courage; so does a dog”), and who expertly plays on his son’s ambivalent feelings, until he finally drives Robert into hating his father for having coaxed him into his have game of scheming and betrayal - whereupon the elder Bruce drily comments: “At last you have learned what it means to loathe. Now you are ready to be a king.”

Then-newcomer Catherine McCormack stars as Wallace’s childhood adore Murron, whose scenes with Wallace provide for much-needed tenderness in the first hour of the movie - particularly touching is four year faded Murron’s gift of a thistle (Scotland’s national flower) to orphaned William - and disagreement sharply with the bloodshed that follows virtually incessantly from her death onwards. Sophie Marceau matures from teenage party queen (”La Boum”) to French Princess Isabelle; Brendan Gleeson stars as Wallace’s boyhood friend Hamish, David O’Hara as his heaven-conversing, self-appointed Irish guardian Stephen - one of the movie’s most intellectual characters - and Brian Cox brings all his wonderful cover presence to his brief appearance as Wallace’s uncle Argyle.

When I left the theater after having witnessed this movie’s almost three hours of blood, gore and intense emotions for the first time, I felt as if somebody had given me a fist punch into my stomach. I was so struck that I was almost unable to boom, and dragged my moviegoing companion into the next bar, to revive my spirits with a glass of whiskey. (Scotch, of course) . Having seen the film countless times since then, I no longer need that whiskey to overcome its drastic impact - but I unruffled derive gooseflesh during many of its key scenes and can’t peer it without feeling emotionally drained at the raze.

“Braveheart” is quite simply, one of the best and most successful movies ever created and a spacious allotment of that success comes from the efforts extended by Mel Gibson, as he wore three different hats for this masterpiece, those being producer, director and star. The one oddity about this movie for me was that I heavenly remarkable wore out my VHS copy of it and had, a couple years ago, purchased the DVD but only objective recently took the opportunity to survey it again and no matter how many times you scrutinize this movie, it is detached a handsome, compelling and extraordinarily bewitching film that draws you in to the life of William Wallace despite already colorful how it’s going to raze.

The one thing that drives this movie is the spirit that Mel Gibson puts into his character of William Wallace and it is of no surprise that “Braveheart” won five Academy Awards, including Best Portray of 1995 and Best Director for Mel Gibson. The only apt surprise was that he wasn’t among the top five nominated for or won the Best Actor award.

High praise also goes to the long list of supporting actors and actresses that starred in this advantageous film! Most primary was the performance by Sophie Marceau, one of the most resplendent women on the planet. Patrick McGoohan was absolutely wonderful in the role of the villain Longshanks, King Edward I, delivering a memorable performance.

One of the most essential performances in this film, among the many, was the work done by James Horner who was responsible for the earn. As is normally the case when his name appears in the credits, everything about the fetch, from the first reel to the last, is incredibly well blended into the movie and serves extremely well in enhancing the experience of the movie.

The Premise:

As the outmoded saying goes, is it Hollywood or History? The truth is, of course it’s a bit of history, establish together Hollywood style to develop one of the best films ever presented to an audience. The truth slack it is that we’ll never know as recorded history from this era is circumspect as best. Where a tremendous section of the credit for this film lays is in the hands of Randall Wallace, a descendant of William Wallace’s.

As this historic film opens, we inspect a young William Wallace in Scotland as he’s learning the harsh lessons of life in his era. After his family is killed in battle he’s fortunate enough to have his Uncle Argyle (played brilliantly by Brian Cox) win him under his glide! Several years later he returns home to collect that his countrymen are collected suffering under the yoke of English oppression but he didn’t reach home for that, he came home for Murron MacClannough (Catherine McCormack), seeking her hand in marriage. Glum events unfold from there and William loses the adore of his life and goes on a rampage not only to avenge his care for but to free his country…

What follows from there is not only one of the best films of the nineties but one of the best films of all times. I highly recommend “Braveheart” to any and all who are involved in seeing what right movie making is about! {ssintrepid}

I give this and all other of their so-called research films ZERO STARS!* My experience while watching History Channel specials causes me grave grief for American logic. They contradict themselves repeatedly, skip over and omit valuable evidence and spend illogical sequences in order to mimic upright scientific evaluation. Cary Grant is the befuddled English earl casually puttering around his tourist attraction of a grand old estate in casual dress while a bull of an American millionaire (Robert Mitchum) crashes into his life and seduces Grant’s sophisticated lady (Deborah Kerr). It’s pure fantasy, of course, with its cool, cultured lovers swapping witty banter with the same calm they swap gunshots in an old-fashioned dul. Have adultery and jealousy ever been so civilized? Stanley Donen never shakes this very British drawing-room comedy of manners free of its talky, stagebound source or its deliberate snail’s pace, but he does manages to bring a lightness that softens the wit with an American lilt. Ultimately, though, it’s all about a crack cast in fine form: Mitchum’s sleepy-eyed insolence, Kerr’s easy elegance, Jean Simmons’s flighty outrageousness, and especially the charm and measured grace that is Cary Grant. –Sean Axmaker
